Buckinghamshire County Council has been able to access Department of Health funding to support training in health and social care for a number of years which has enabled the Council to provide an extensive programme of training to care workers on a free-of-charge basis. Regrettably, this funding has been withdrawn for 2011-12 so in order to ensure that good quality training remains available to care workers in Bucks, Bucks CC and MKB Care Association have reached an agreement that we believe will ensure a continuity of training provision in the County.
The current programme of training run by the Council finished on 31st March 2011 and from 1st April 2011 MKB Care Association took over the necessary work to support care providers' training needs. Bucks CC remains committed to working with the care sector to provide the best possible level of care to vulnerable people in the county and recognises that well-trained staff are essential to achieving this goal. As a result, they have supported MKB Care Association to set up a small team of people who will work with you to identify your staff training needs and source training in a way that is both flexible and cost effective.
Caroline Post is MKB Care's new Workforce Development Officer and Julia Harvey is MKB Care's new Administrator. They are working in close partnership with Total Training Solutions to provide such training. You should direct all your training enquiries to Caroline and Julia in future and you can reach them via e-mail at training@mkbcare.org.uk or by phone on 0844 800 8378. Based in Chesham, they both work full-time and are available during normal office hours.
