FOXSCEOxfordshire County Council are not providing further funding for FOXSCE as a harsh reality of the government cutbacks and, as a result, Richard Burden is no longer in post as the Executive Officer. MKB Care Association are currently working with the FOXSCE committee to see how a level of support can continue for Oxfordshire care providers in these difficult times. Please look out for communications about this from MKB Care.
FOXSCE’s primary function was to improve workforce development and training in Oxfordshire Adult Social Care. During its existence it was responsible for the following:
- Seeking funding and ensuring that funding for training is effectively directed.
- Arranging training, marketing and filling training courses.
- Targeting and supporting hard to reach, struggling and poorly rated providers.
- Representing care providers and providing information, advice and guidance to members.
- Producing a bi-monthly newsletter.
- Holding conferences.
- Developing relationships with other care associations.
Recent achievements include very successful conferences in January 2010 and February 2011, the purchase and distribution of dementia training packs for all registered provider members in Oxfordshire and the purchase and distribution of 50 laptop computers for loan to members for staff training purposes.
